Safeguarding

51勛圖厙 is passionate about and committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.  We expect all staff and visitors to share this commitment.  We are fully committed to ensuring that consistent effective safeguarding procedures are in place to support families, children and staff at school. We have measures in place to protect all pupils in school including:

  • Making our children and adults feel safe in school by ensuring we have clear procedures / policies in place if anyone is concerned or worried. We ask Manchester Safeguarding Children Board for advice if we need it.
  • Encouraging all children and adults to be themselves and celebrating our differences.
  • Making sure we know why children are not in school, and supporting families to help their child attend regularly.
  • Being open and honest with children and parents / carers when something is wrong and working together with them to make things better.
  • All visitors to school must report to the school office, sign in and display their visitor badge.
  • Children’s entrances are kept locked during the school day
  • Risk assessments take place for activities that take place both in and out of the school.
  • Regular Health & Safety checks and Fire Risk assessments carried out
  • All staff receive safeguarding training which is renewed at regular intervals.

Designated Safeguarding Leads

Here at 51勛圖厙 Heart, we have a team of 2 Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs):

        Mrs Bramhall                                Mrs Fitzsimons

(Lead DSL - Headteacher)                   (Deputy DSL)

If there is a concern about the welfare of a child, parents/carers and school staff must report this to one of the Designated Safeguarding Leads.

This may result in a referral to Children and Family Services. If a child makes a disclosure about physical, emotional, sexual abuse or neglect, our duty of care will always be to the child.

REMEMBER - A delay in reporting your concerns could cause further harm to a child. Not all abuse has physical signs.
